Pheww... It's such a long time since I last update my blog. Just feel like writing a a few sentences today :)

A new domain .tel made available to the public on 24th March 2009! It's a new revolutionized way to keep it contact information...

As soon as I learned the release, I spent no time waiting and quickly registered hendry.tel finally I could get my first name reserved in a domain.

Anyways, one thing interest me about this new domain is: my email, my phone, my address & my other contacts can change BUT not my hendry.tel :)

In 10 years time, if you need to find me... No worries cozz my most updated contact is available at hendry.tel

Plane Trip to Malaysia

My flight from Toronto to Hong Kong this time was so far the best compare to my previous two trips. I usually have a hard time sleeping on a plane which I don't really know why. In the past, I tried hard to occupy myself with activities such as playing video games, watching all the shows on the little TV and talking to my seat mate to kill time. When I feel tired, I tried to sleep but the environment just wont let me. This time round, I found a good idea way before my plane trip on how to sleep better. What happen was, I requested a couple of alcoholic drinks right after my first meal. I had a very delicious pork and rice meal and right after that I was served with a glass of RED WINE and a glass of WHITE WINE. As usual, I don't like to slowly drink my booze cozz the effect kicks in too slow, so instead of sipping I chucked them all in no time. Next thing I know, I started falling asleep and It was great. I woke up a couple of times due to the turbulence shake but I didn't mind it cozz when I check my watch, time passed super fast. One thing I hate about the plane ride was the guy that sit beside me. He is an Australian guy, rather fat and is a selfish little *******. He slept straight for 16 hours and only woke up twice for meals. When he sleeps, he pretended to not know and sat like a king using the suppose to be "shared arm rest" fully for himself and his ass took a little part of my sit. I had to squeeze myself to my left and luckily it was an aisle. Anyways, I managed to sleep well regardless.

I am in transit at Hong Kong waiting for my next departure to Malaysia which will be in 6 hours. To kill some time, I chose to stay at this nice premium lounge that cost 53 bucks Canadian and they provide free food, shower, 15 minute massage, internet and nice comfortable seats. Thats how I get the chance to write this beautiful blog. I wanted to take some professional pictures of the airport but too chicken cozz I don't want to look like an idiot that never see an airport.

Anyways, I am gonna have a nice shower soon, so I don't look too tired in front of my family.

iPhone's Early Arrival

I mentioned on my last entry that the 8th of August 2008 should be a lucky day for most people. I personally did not experience anything special on that day. However, yesterday I received the iPhone I ordered which is suppose to be ship on the 22nd of August. Unfortunately it is not the iPhone I ordered. I ordered a 16gb white iPhone and the one I received yesterday was an 8gb iPhone. I was very disappointed initially but after going through the documentations that comes with the phone, I noticed a few odd things. Firstly, the 8gb iphone should be shipped out on the 2nd of August according to the sales rep but the iPhone I received was shipped on the 8th of August 2008. Secondly, its an 8gb instead of the 16gb.  So if you put all the numbers together, it is 8 8 8 8 !!!

This morning I called Fido's sales rep and told them that I received the wrong iPhone and asked what can they do about that. I was kinda hoping that they would give me a free credit to compensate for their mistake. This sales rep I talked to was kinda cranky and she said she cannot do anything for me even after I told her that I am one of Fido's oldest customer (4 years). After a long conversation, she agreed to extend the 3 months free unlimited local outgoing call to another 2 months (5 months in total). Thats extremely beneficial coz you can pay hundreds of dollars if you don't budget your calls well in Canada.

I am pretty occupied today with my iPhone: Activating it, updating it, transferring phonebook from my old phone, installing useful applications and customizing wallpapers and sounds... etc...

The iPhone itself is 'so far so good'... I love the SMS feature, full Synchronization with my macbook and many more... :)

There will be more updates about the phone as I get accustomed with its functions and features...

Beijing Olympic Opening Ceremony

Yesterday Andreas invited many people to his house for today's Beijing Olympic Opening Celebration at 8:00 am in the morning. Well, as you can imagine not many people show up coz its too early. So we ended up with four people watching the ceremony (me, Irvan, Andreas and his sister. We were impressed by the amount of effort China put in to make the ceremony as fantastic as it was. Every performance were beautiful and perfect with fireworks colouring the dark sky. I wished I was there to enjoy that wonderful moment. To complete the celebration, Andreas treated us with some homemade Harvey's burger. Aside from the little celebration, nothing much happen except for the fact that I have my final exam tomorrow and I need to finish my studying NOW!!!

One last thing I want to add! today should be the luckiest day for most people because it is the 8th of August 2008 (yap that is 888), I suggest you people go out and buy some lottery.

I am pretty happy to be able to experience what it is like going through today; a day that will be remembered by many for the years to come.

Goodbye 'Get Stuffed'

'Get Stuffed' was a gift store located near my University which was also right across the street to where I live. The store mainly sell dolls but also carry some collectible items like cars, old magazine, laser disc as well as candies. Our circle of friends loves to window shop but we do shop for gifts once in a while. I particularly love to browse their hot wheel's miniature car collection because some of their models are rare. What I like most about the store is the owner's friendliness. He is an old man with the sincerest smile I have ever seen. Whenever I visited the store, he would thank me for coming then showed me around his store and notified me with new deals in the store. He would sincerely thank you for any business you give him regardless of the price.

I stopped going there about two month ago because of my busyness at school and work. Last month I visited a Farah's food (a convenience store close to my University) and I saw the owner and his wife stood at the tilt helping customers. I was wondering what they were doing at the store: "Do they own the store or are they just employees?". I refuse to believe that they both work there knowing the fact that 'Get Stuffed' shut off their business a few weeks before I visited them at the convenient store.

After a month, Hainan (a friend of mine who works at the same convenient store) told me that his businesses went bankrupt and had to work at the store for a living. It really broke my heart
to hear that a friendly old man who should have been retired is still up for the challenge despite of his defeat. I hope he could climb back up like Donald Trump and lead a better life. Goodbye 'Get Stuffed' and Good luck old man!

Surprised Birthday Party

Starting from yesterday (1st August 2008), I officially turned 22 years old, although some may argue that I am 23 based on the Lunar calendar. Anyways, I would like to share my schedule for my birthday:

1:00 am - 3:00 am >> I went out to Fubar (a small club at Waterloo) with Andreas and Irvan. Andreas bought me couple of shots and we dance a little. After that, I invited them for a supper at Mel's Dinner and the three of us ordered Mel's favorite that only cost 4 bucks a plate before tax. It comes with scrambled eggs, bacon, bread and some fries.
3:00 am - 10:00 am >> Sleep zzZZ
10:00 am - 11:30 am >> I woke up feeling great, brushed my teeth and washed my faced. Then, I turned on my computer and check my facebook. I was shocked to see 12 wall posts in one night, which had never happen before in the past. It took me an hour to reply to all the posts.
11:30 am - 12:30 pm >> Jane (my housemate) cooked me chinese noodles with eggs and tomatoes. She said noodles symbolizes long life. I was pretty touch and happy at the same time knowing that she has an exam the next day and was willing to cook for me.
12:30 pm - 3:00 pm>> I managed to use the 2.5 hours wisely to finish up my sociology take-home exam and at the same time replied to more facebook walls.
3:00 pm - 9:30 pm >> I forgot to ask time off on my bday, so I have to force myself to go to work. This is the point when I told myself "I think this is how my bday gonna end this year".
9:30 pm ??

At 9:30 pm, I got back home and as soon as I open the door, I was shocked to see many people in my house. It was dark but people are screaming here and there and it was just amazing. I didn't expect to see so many people that it took me a minute to digest what on earth was happening. Then I realized that I was a slap with a surprised party. My living room was decorated with nice decoration which I believe were all from Dollar Store. So apparently. my housemate Jane with the help of Bonnie and Andreas helped organized this little party for me two days ago. I have to give them credits for all the effort put into organizing this party.

Thats my dining room wall, looks like a little card drawn on the wall by everyone!!! I like that...

After 5 minutes, I was presented with an ice cream cake from Diary queen. I made a wish and with one blow I managed to extinguish all the candles. Then, I have to cut the cake into 20 pieces and thanks to everyone for not helping me!

Yap thats me cutting the cake! Thanks to Aly, Vivi and Carol for getting the cake. It tasted FANTASTIC!

I finished my cake pretty quick coz it tasted too good. Then I had a little conversation with everyone in my house to thank them for coming and stuff.
Doug Cruz handed me a large bottle of Heineken and I chucked them all in 2 minutes. Then he gave me a shot of Havana Cuban which pretty much had me buzzed.
More pics here:

Half of the people in the room had to leave at this point because some of them have exam the next day and Jacey, Mike, Monica and Nate are going to Canada's Wonderland.

That was pretty much it for my birthday and I would like to thank everyone again for making it happen. The people that attended my surprised party were Jane & Bonnie (my housemate), Claus, Sara, Jacey, Mike, Monika, Nathan, Jesslyn, Doug Cruz, Vivi,  Andreas, Arik, Irvan, Angelin, Aly, Carol, Ira and not to forget Sushi who attended for a bit and had to be put back in the crate :(

Now its the gifts unwrapping time:

Thanks to Monica and Nathan for the sexy card, lovely candy and the little balloon...

This gift card was from Claus & Sara, thanks guys... I know what I am buying already... btw, they choose a special number that match my birth date $81 = August 1st... great number!!!

Mike and Jacey invited my housemate and me to their house for a dinner a few weeks ago and I loved his cooking, so made these for my B'day... Thats really thoughtful guys... I am having it before my work tomorrow :)

Bonnie burned me 10 songs that she promised I will like. It turns out that she is right, now I played the songs repeatedly to the point that she has to shut her door tight. Also, thanks to you and Shao Jia for the iPhone case! I can't wait to see it...

At last, I am done blogging about my Bday. I thought I should write it a little more in depth cozzz its a 'once in a year thing'.

Thanks to you guys again...!!! A SPECIAL THANKS TO JANE FOR ORGANIZING THE WHOLE EVENT!!! (you have two more bubble tea to claim...)

Cheers...

A Post Card from France

James promised me a post card before he left for Malaysia and go to France. I have never expected a post card from him so I took him lightly when he said he is gonna send me one. Also mainly because post card sounded a little old school. Anyways, after 4 months of waiting he surprised me with a nice post card from France this morning when I checked my mail box. It is a very touching post card and I would like to acknowledge it by sharing with everyone. Here you go:

Thanks James!!!
